Bangles are a fun way to accessorize your outfits. This great craft instructional shows you how you can make your own custom bangles with just a plastic bottle, an iron and some colorful nail polish. This is a great activity for tweens, and even for younger children if you do the ironing part yourself.
As always with any heating device, use caution when it’s turned on. The heat from the iron shouldn’t be hot enough to melt the plastic, but simply soften it as you press it into the iron. If you are concerned about ruining your iron, you could always get a cheap one for crafts like these. (I’ve found ones for $5-10 on sites like Craigslist).
The coolest thing about this craft is that there really are no limits to what you can create, besides your own imagination. Size, color, patterns – it’s all up to you! Imagine being able to accessorize your wardrobe using the water bottle you just finished.
