You know the old saying about one rotten apple spoiling the whole bunch?

When it comes to pit bulls, that’s all I can think about. It’s not that I don’t believe there are some truly bad pit bulls out there, but as with any dog, they are a product of their environment. Some pit bulls can definitely be dangerous and vicious, but if there’s anyone to blame for this behavior in dogs, it’s humans.

Our great nation has come a long way in fighting for equality, but it’s no secret that we still have a long way to go. You may find it hard to believe, but when it comes to pit bulls, discrimination is even worse. In many places around the United States, there are areas that have breed-specific legislations, meaning dogs of certain backgrounds are banned.

One of these places is the Mile High City, Denver, CO, where all dogs that fall under the pit bull category (American pit bull, Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire, and all mixed breeds) need to get out of the city or face a possible death penalty.

In the following video Tino Sanchez, founder of the pit bull advocacy organization Peace, Love and Pitbulls took one of his rescue dogs, Buster, to Denver and was quickly sent packing. What he had to say about the incident needs to be heard…
