High school dress codes aren’t anything new. Yet, they continue to cause controversy in many schools across the nation.

While some have tried to fight against these rules they deem unfair, such as the California senior who combatted the dress code with a slick yearbook quote, students (primarily female) continue to be sent home. And sometimes, the outfits aren’t as risqué as one would imagine, like the student in Kentucky who was reportedly sent home because her collarbone was showing.

Emily Schaeffer, a 17-year-old student at Brandywine High School in Wilmington, DE, is another student who was told to go back home. She went to school wearing leggings and a jacket, as you’ll see in the video below.

Her school’s policy allows students to wear leggings as long as they are “covered by an appropriate length of article of clothing no more than 4 inches from the top of the knee.” But, Schaeffer feels she didn’t break the rule and said she was very “offended” over the incident.

“I was basically just being told that my education is less important than what I’m wearing,” she told Fox 29.

Watch below and let us know if you think she should’ve been sent home or not.
