It’s a hot day at the Duchess sanctuary, which means it’s time for a pool party! The horses all head to the pond to cool down from the summer sun and one grey horse wades right into the middle of the pond. Named Diva, the horse’s mother was a Pregnant Mare Urine (PMU) mare rescued from slaughter.
The horses at the thousand-plus acre ranch near Oakland, Oregon are all rescues. Many have been abused, abandoned, and neglected, or been PMU mares. But now they are free to roam on the beautiful property.
Watch what the brown horse to the right of the screen does when she sees Diva swimming…she can’t let Diva be the only one having all the fun!
