You won’t find a circus these days that still use live animals. Perhaps in some parts of the world, you’ll see a lion, tiger, or elephant, but it’s a rarity. However, one German circus company has recreated the spectacle of an animal show, without the cruelty.

It may be surprising, but even in countries like the UK, circuses are allowed to use animals. The government aims to bring in legislation to stop the practice, but it won’t be here before 2020 at the earliest.

Circus Roncalli has developed incredible special effects. Their holograms are incredibly lifelike, and allow them to host a show with amazing spectacles and tricks without any cruelty. After all, they won’t store these animals in tiny cages between shows. They’ll be happily stored on a USB drive or computer.

11 laser projectors create a stunning show that works from any seat in the house. The 360-degree extravaganza may well be the future of circuses.

Birger Wunderlich, from Bluebox who came up with the technology, chatted with reporters. He said, “We have been using Optoma projectors for 6 years and have consistently had a very positive experience in price, performance, and reliability. We needed a high contrast projector with great color for the 3D effect and the ZU850’s 2,000,000:1 contrast is perfect for this project.”

That’s a lot of words to say it’s super good quality. You can see it for yourself below, or take a trip to Germany. If that’s too far away, then just enjoy the YouTube clips!
