The Hickey family knew something was different about their son Jonny and were advised to have evaluations. Their boy was diagnosed with autism. It was a difficult time for the entire family. But everything changed when the mother saw a news story about a neglected and abused dog named Xena. She followed the dog’s progress on its Facebook page and when it was well enough to be adopted, they went to a fundraising event to meet Xena.
Out of hundreds of applications, they chose the Hickey family to adopt Xena. They immediately noticed a change in Jonny. When Xena first hopped in the car and started licking his face and sitting in his lap, the family knew things were gonna be different. They changed each other’s entire worlds.
