Dulce de leche is a delicious dessert topping that’s popular in Latin American countries. Much like caramel, it’s sweet, thick, and creamy, and perfect to drizzle over some ice cream or (let’s be honest) pretty much anything.

Caramel, though, can be a little complicated to make. It’s made with sugar, and temperature and timing must be exact or you can end up ruining the batch. Dulce de leche, on the other hand, requires zero effort. Once you see how easy it is to make, you’ll say “so long” to caramel.
