These poor, unfortunate chimps spent the last 30 years of their lives locked in cages. When they’re finally released, I couldn’t keep it together. This is truly remarkable.

Thank goodness for the Austrian animal sanctuary, Gut Aiderbichl. It was here that these 38 chimps were able to breath fresh air for the first time in three decades. After a lifetime of being imprisoned and subjected to numerous experiments, these poor animals were finally rescued and released into this compassionate sanctuary.
The raw emotion displayed by these newly freed creatures is truly a sight to behold. I was fighting back tears for the entirety of this heartwarming footage. The sheer joy and excited curiosity present on all these chimps’ faces is enough to make anyone smile.
