Rosie O’Sullivan may not look like the typical pop star, and she’s the first one to admit it. Rosie took to the stage on Britain’s Got Talent to perform “It’s A Man’s Man’s World,” which is no easy feat for any singer. She was nervous, but when she opened her mouth to sing, the judges were surprised.

At the time, Rosie was a 19-year-old student from Birmingham, U.K. She admitted she was struggling to cope with her nerves ahead of her audition, as she’s always struggled with confidence and body image issues. She describes herself as being self-conscious and “just one of those people that are in the background.” But as soon as she starts singing, an incredible transformation takes place. Her inner soul singer emerges — and the results are breathtaking.

“I have always been a big girl and I have always been a bit scared of what people thought of me,” she said. “For me singing puts me in a world of my own. I don’t think I can describe how much it would mean for me to get a yes It would give me much more confidence, it would tell me that I am good at what I do.”

After the stunning number, all four judges insisted that Rosie had performed brilliantly. Rosie herself looked shocked by the feedback, which is sad — I hope she knows how great she truly is. Raw talent comes in all shapes and sizes, which we’ve seen time and time again.
