According to the World Health Organization (WHO), one in three women will experience physical or sexual violence at some point in their lifetime. To really emphasize this, a Norwegian company named Care Norway released a video titled “#DearDaddy,” and it is quickly going viral on the Internet. People are calling it one of the most powerful videos they have ever seen.

#DearDaddy is a five-minute video that journeys through a woman’s relationship with men, starting from when she’s in the womb. The woman is speaking to her father and telling him about the violence she will inevitably face. Dad doesn’t know it yet, but he’s a cause of this cycle of abuse.

“I will be born a girl which means by the time I am 14, the boys in my class would have called me a w***e, a b***h, a c**t, and many other things. It’s just for fun of course, something boys do. So you won’t worry and I understand that. Perhaps you did the same when you were young, I’m sure you didn’t mean anything by it. Still, some of the other people won’t get the joke.”

By the end of the video, the woman is grown up and has experienced an abusive relationships. She then says one last thing to her father, and I lost it.

Please SHARE this powerful video with everyone you know on Facebook.
