Every mother has a unique childbirth story, but you’d be hard-pressed to find one as intense birth as Erica Nigrelli.
Erica, a 32-year-old teacher in Missouri City, TX, was in the classroom at 36 weeks gestation, when she began to feel faint and collapsed. Kids in the classroom ran for help and got her husband Nathan, who also works in the same school, to rush to her aid. Erica’s heart had stopped, but by the time she was rushed to the hospital where doctors delivered her baby three weeks early, she had already passed away.
But then, something miraculous happened. This amazing mother died, gave birth, and when doctors turned to her, her heart started beating again. It turned out that Erica had a heart defect that had previously gone un-detected, but she came back to life and rejoined her Nathan and Baby Elayna. Erica believes that God was protecting her. She told CNN that she has a memory of being in the ambulance. “I remember being bounced up,” she said. And she remembers seeing sunlight.
Miracles happen every day. Remember Kate Ogg, who touched her newborn baby’s lifeless body, which suddenly brought him back to life? Yep.
Baby Elayna was in the intensive care unit for two weeks. She’s now healthy, thriving and living each day to the fullest alongside her mom, who’s surely doing the same.
What an incredible second chance. If you agree, please SHARE this miracle story with your friends on Facebook!
