The weather was quite dry when they decided to film their animals. To have a little fun, one woman decided to walk up to their furriest dog and rub her down with a blanket. The dog ended up with so much static electricity that her hair stood on end. She doesn’t seem to mind the outcome and seemed to enjoy the rub down, but some dogs don’t like static electricity and there are things you can do to help them.

The most obvious solution to this problem is adding in moisture. The easiest way to do this is to get a humidifier. It’s great for your own dry skin as well. If you want to contain the moisture to only affect your dogs, you can mist them with a spray bottle, add moisturizing shampoos to their bath, or use pet wipes. Some sources have suggested using dryer sheets, but others have said the chemicals are not good to be wiped on your dog’s skin. Your best bet would be to just avoid them.
You can have fun with your dog and static electricity, just make sure your dog is still happy and comfortable. Some won’t like the tingling on their skin, but it’s easy to fix with one of the suggestions made above. Check out the video to see how this long-haired dog reacts to static.
