Have you ever heard of milia?  Most people have not, as it is a very unknown skin condition that affects over 3 million people a year in the U.S.

Milia is more commonly known as milk spots, and they can affect all ages, and are hard to get rid of.  Milk spots appear when keratin gets stuck under the skin, and is most commonly found in babies.

Check out this comprehensive guide for helping with these annoying little bumps:

Lemon Juice and Sugar

Mix together 2 Tbsp. of sugar along with half a lemon’s worth of juice, and 1 tsp. of oil.  Lemons have amazing antioxidants and healing properties, making them a go-to solution.

Just apply the mixture to your face, and let it sit for 20-30 minutes.

Natural Honey

Like lemons, honey has powerful healing properties that have been used for thousands of years.  Honey attracts moisture to the skin, which helps exfoliate the outer layer thus causing new skin growth.

Try mixing it with sugar for added effect.

Castor Oil

Though castor oil has long been known to treat conditions like constipation, asthma, and bladder infections, it is also great for skin.

Mix it with equal parts of olive oil and apply to your face.  Wait for it to soak in, then dry off.

Steaming Your Face

Steam is one of the best ways to rid yourself of skin impurities.  The steam helps open pores in the skin, and get rid of any gunk that might be hiding underneath those layers.

Tea Tree Oil

This oil has amazing antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, which make it a great product to put on your skin.

To use, apply a small amount to the affected area, and let sit overnight.

In the morning, wash your face.

Pomegranate Peel Powder

This fruit is one of the most well known remedies for milk spots due to its antioxidant and exfoliating properties.

To make use of this technique, roast a pomegranate peel until it is brown, then crush it to a powder.  Mix with lemon juice if you like as well.

Apply it to your face and let sit for 15 minutes before washing it off.  Repeat this for a few weeks and your skin should be clear!

Cornstarch and Apple Cider Vinegar

Combine the cornstarch and vinegar to make an astringent paste, and place it on your face. Leave it on for about 25 minutes, then rinse off.

Fenugreek Leaves

These leaves are known for their  antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties.  In fact, in many cultures they are famous for healing acne breakouts, blackheads, boils, milk spots, and other common blemishes.

Just grab a handful of the leaves, and grind them with a little water.  Apply the paste to your face for 15 minutes before washing off.

Remove Makeup Before Bed

This one should go without saying, but keeping makeup on can irritate skin and cause all sorts of impurities.  Keeping your skin clear from chemicals as much as possible is very important.

Stay In The Shade

If you have sensitive skin, keeping cool from the sun is a good idea because harmful rays can damage your skin.
