I can’t imagine just abandoning a dog and hoping blindly that a hero will swoop in and save them. Too often, stories like this one don’t have happy endings.
I understand that sometimes a person may not be able to care for their pets any longer — maybe they’re too ill, old or weak to give a pet the proper lifestyle it needs — but there are always options beyond abandoning pets.
Unfortunately, a male shar-pei crossbreed named Kai was found stranded at a train station in Scotland. He was all alone except for a suitcase containing a pillow, a toy, food, and a bowl.
The Scottish SPCA was notified, and they used a microchip implanted in Kai’s shoulder to try and find his owner. The microchip led them to a previous owner who claimed that he had sold Kai back in 2013. Unfortunately, he could not provide the contact information of the new owner.
Abandoning animals is a federal offense under Scotland’s Animal Health and Protection Act of 2006. Anyone found guilty is forbidden from owning other animals.
It seems that Kai’s previous owner’s heart was probably in the right place. He made sure that Kai had a few comforts, but if you have any information on who Kai’s previous owner might be, please contact the Scottish SCPA via their website.
Let’s hope Kai can soon find a forever home with someone who won’t abandon him. Please SHARE this with everyone you know so we can find Kai a new home and so that the SPCA can get all the information they need!
The SPCA says that Kai is two-to-three years old and has a very kind disposition.
Hopefully, the Internet can help find Kai a new home!
