Tilapia is one of the most popular fish choices we make these days, and the fact that it is one of the most readily available fish in America, so it is a standard component of American diets.

Yet, is tilapia good for us?

The problem is that almost all tilapia on the marker is farmed, which is much unhealthier than the wild one, due to the heavy industrial processes behind its farming.

These fish receive foods loaded with GMO corn and soy pellets, which remain in their bodies until we purchase them from the store.  On the other hand, the wild fish eats natural, lake plants and healthy algae, which can boost our health in countless ways.

The consumption of farmed tilapia has been linked to:

  1. Increased Inflammation risk

The consumption of farmed tilapia leads to various inflammation-related illnesses, like arthritis, asthma, heart disease, and more. Namely, this fish increases the risk of these illnesses even more than hamburgers and bacon.

  1. High Exposure to Antibiotics and Pesticides

The meat from farmed fish is treated with more pesticides and antibiotics than natural sources, because of the horrible diets and harsh living conditions in which it is farmed. Namely, farmers use antibiotics to fatten the fish up and keep them alive, and these antibiotics end up in our bodies.
