Jennifer Rodgers was driving home from work when a sheriff appeared in her rear view mirror. His lights flashed, and Jennifer pulled to the side of the road. Christian County sheriff Bob Kindermann approached the vehicle and had a brief chat with her before ordering her out of the car. Unbeknownst to Jennifer, this routine traffic stop would change her life.
Jennifer’s boyfriend, Specialist Chad Defrates, had just returned from fighting overseas – yet she didn’t know. Chad had a special surprise in store for her and enlisted the help of the local sheriff. Here’s where the traffic stop comes into play. Sitting in the back of Kindermann’s police car was Defrates, watching his girlfriend converse with the sheriff. When she turned her back on the car, he stepped out, holding a CD player that would play their favorite song.
