While enjoying a day at the beach, little Liam Brenes had something that is critical to his life stolen from him. While taking all of his family’s possessions, the thief also stole his prosthetic leg.
Liam is just 4 years old. He was born with FACTO syndrome, which is a very rare disorder that left Liam missing the fibula bone on his left leg. Without this prosthetic, it is very difficult for Liam to walk.
After his story made the news and it was reported that Liam’s family’s insurance might not cover the cost of replacing the prosthetic, one man knew he had to step in.
Shark Tank star Robert Herjavec had been having a very bad day when he turned the news on. But when he saw Liam’s little face and heard his story, he just had to help.
The gracious man has offered to pay for Liam’s new prosthetic leg. You can hear his heartfelt thoughts about Liam’s family’s struggle in the video below.
