10 years ago, singer Mandy Harvey lost her hearing due to a connective tissue disorder. “Basically, I got sick and my nerves deteriorated,” she said.

At the time, Mandy was 18 years old, and singing was her biggest passion in life. She was left not only completely deaf, but totally devastated. “I  left music after I lost my hearing,” she said. But Mandy didn’t stay down forever. “Then [I] figured out how to get back into singing with muscle memory using visual tuners and trusting my pitch.”

Now 29, Mandy has beaten all odds and become a singer/songwriter!
