When they left this thrift store with a teddy bear, they were excited to get it home. Once they did, however, they found a spooky secret hidden inside. When we here at SFG saw what it was, our jaws hit the floor.
We’ve all had an odd thrift store experience at one point or another, but what happened to this family is by far the most abnormal one we’ve ever heard about. This got us thinking more about thrift stores and how many people actually shop there regularly.
NARTS.org reports that a consumer firm by the name of America’s Research Group found that, “about 16 – 18% of Americans will shop at a thrift store during a given year. For consignment/resale shops, it’s about 12 – 15%. To keep these figures in perspective, consider that during the same time frame; 11.4% of Americans shop in factory outlet malls, 19.6% in apparel stores and 21.3% in major department stores.”
Though major department stores still get the lion’s share of consumers, the 18% of Americans who do bargain hunt was a figure that impressed us here at Viral Tales . But, what do you think? Please share your thoughts and feelings with us in the comment section.
