Sometimes people do horrific things to dogs, but their capacity to love humans can be beyond amazing! A little dog named Chunky was kidnapped from his owner by teenagers, who fed the dog drugs, broke his neck, legs, and even set him on fire before dumping him in the trash.

RSPCA inspector Caroline Doe commented on the ordeal-

‘This was the most disturbing case I have ever dealt with – by an absolute mile. The whole thing sends shivers down my spine. The defendants may have been young and confessed to being under the influence of drugs but the cruelty they inflicted on this poor dog was extreme, barbaric and inexcusable. Chunky was found with a broken leg and neck, and with burns all over his face and eyes. He must have suffered horrendously for hours as the senseless torture took place for the amusement of these boys.”

Doe also noted that it was a “miracle” that Chunky survived the entire ordeal.

Chunky was eventually found in a rubbish dump near his home, and the group of teenagers were found. They eventually pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and were punished from keeping animals for five years, given a referral order for 12 months, and ordered to pay costs.

Despite his painful ordeal, Chunky is back to full health. He’s still nervous and timid due to the abuse he has endured, but he’s happy with his original owners! His determination and will to live, along with his ability to trust humans again prove that he’s one beautiful soul. He’s one inspirational pooch to have endured so much and to still love!
