Finger knitting is fun and easy. And all you need is a ball of yawn, a pair of scissors and…your fingers. It doesn’t get much simpler than that. Finger knitting is a great way to spend your free time when you need something to do. When you’re finished, you’ll have a beautiful necklace or bracelet!
In this video, Fiber Flux creator Jennifer Dickerson provides an easy DIY tutorial showing us all how to finger knit. In under ten minutes, you can create some pretty amazing things. The final product is really amazing and such a great project to do with kids because it doesn’t require needles.
The steps are pretty simple. You’ll slip a ball of yarn between your thumb and index finger, loop the string around your pinkie and weave through your fingers. Wrap yarn around your little finger and continue in the other direction; this time go over your ring finger, under your middle finger, and over your index finger. You will now have a loop on each finger. Repeat this process. Watch her full deminstration in the video below.
I can’t wait to try this — and eventually move into bigger projects like creating a scarf and hat. Seriously, knitting has never been easier!
