Old windows are one of the most pieces of decor you can get your hands on!
It sounds a little strange to think a piece of glass that is supposed to be used in the middle of a wall could be a decoration, but Sherree M. from Hometalk shared how she made it just that!
“I love old windows and the possibilities,” Sherree wrote on her Hometalk post about the project.
She found adorable creation she could make with the frames was a piece of garden art that’s perfect for the Fourth of July!
The only other supply she needed to make it happen? Marbles!
“My favorite thing to do is glue flat marbles on (the windows) and hand them on my fence, porch, anywhere the sun can reflect and watch the sparkle,” Sherree wrote.
She started the project by cleaning the glass of the frame and making sure it was dry and ready to go.
Since July is just around the corner, Sherree decided she wanted her piece of garden art to be a patriotic theme.
So, once the window was completely clean, she decided to paint the frame a rustic shade of red.
Then, when the paint had completely dried, she started to make the pattern of a flag using red, white, blue, and clear flat marbles.
Sherree alternated between three rows of red and then three rows of clear and white marbles to make the stripes in five out of the six squares.
In the final, upper left square, she used blue and clear marbles to create the stars.
She used super glue to hold all the marbles in place.
“This glue takes a little while to dry so it gives you time to move them around if need be,” Sherree wrote.
The result is so cute, and it’s the perfect decoration for summer!
