Business magnate Elon Musk backed Vice President JD Vance’s claim that most violent crime is carried out by a small group of individuals who should be incarcerated.
Vance wrote on X, “The Democrats’ big lie about violent crime is that it’s ‘systemic,’ implying no one is truly responsible. If the ‘system’ is at fault, then you end up funding nonprofits that accomplish nothing except employ underqualified radicals. In reality, the vast majority of violent crime is committed by a tiny fraction of people, and they should be thrown in prison.”
Musk echoed Vance’s view, calling those who sympathize more with potential killers than with their potential victims “disgusting.”

“The crime and homeless industrial complexes that Democrats have built through NGOs and nonprofits aren’t meant to solve problems,” Van Duyne said. “Instead, they function as fraudulent operations that launder taxpayer dollars to enrich themselves and their allies, while promoting radical, pro-criminal policies that put hardworking Americans at risk.”
Musk has also called for life imprisonment for repeat violent offenders.
