Giorgio Armani, the legendary Italian fashion designer, has died at the age of 91.
“In this company, we have always felt like part of a family,” the Armani Group said in a statement.
“Today, with deep emotion, we feel the void left by the founder who guided this family with vision, passion, and dedication. Yet it is in his spirit that we—employees and family members who have always worked alongside Mr. Armani—remain committed to preserving his legacy and carrying the company forward with respect, responsibility, and love.”
The fashion world and political leaders alike are mourning Armani’s passing.
“Giorgio Armani has passed away at 91. Through his elegance, restraint, and creativity, he elevated Italian fashion and inspired the world,” Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said. “An icon, a tireless worker, a symbol of the best of Italy. Thank you for everything.”
