Yes, chef! Another day, another bouquet for Jeremy Allen White.
The star of The Bear finally explained why he’s always spotted carrying flowers—and why the internet can’t get enough of it.
“I have this farmers market near my house that’s open on Sundays, and I just love going there,” White, 34, shared during his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday. “I love having flowers in my home. It’s so strange, though—it’s turned into this whole thing.”
On June 26, during his appearance on “The Tonight Show,” White finally opened up about the flower photos that have everyone talking.
Fallon playfully held up a photo collage of White clutching enormous bouquets and teased, “Do you work at a florist?”
White laughed and explained, “I saw a friend a couple weeks ago who I hadn’t seen in a while, and as we were catching up, she suddenly asked, ‘Can I ask you something?’ She was like, ‘What’s up with the flowers?’—like there was something mysterious or weird going on with them.”
“I just like them,” White said simply. “I like having them in the house. I like giving them to people.”
The flowers have also become a special way he connects with his daughters. White shared with Fallon, “I arrange them with my daughters on Sundays, and it’s a nice little ritual we have.”
Embracing the habit as his “thing,” White smiled as Fallon added, “No one can take that from you.”
The Shameless alum shares daughters Ezer, 6, and Dolores, 4, with his ex-wife Addison Timlin. The couple married in 2019, and Timlin filed for divorce in May 2023.
In January 2024, White gave a heartfelt shoutout to his daughters during his Golden Globe acceptance speech for Best Television Male Actor in a Musical or Comedy for The Bear.
“Ezer and Dolores, you are my heart. I love you, I love you, I love you,” he said emotionally.
In June 2024, White revealed that while his daughters know about The Bear, they haven’t quite watched the whole show yet.
“My oldest, Ezzy… she really enjoys the first two minutes of the pilot episode,” he told Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of the FX series’ third season. “It’s just me getting scared by a bear and then falling on my butt. She asks to watch that part a lot, but that’s all she’s seen.”
The Bear returned for Season 4 on June 25, with all 10 episodes now streaming on Hulu.
White stars as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto in the Emmy Award-winning series, alongside Ayo Edebiri (Sydney Adamu) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Richard “Richie” Jerimovich).
“The Bear” Season 4 dropped on Hulu on June 25.
Known for its celebrity cameos—especially in the last two seasons—The Bear Season 4 delivered a star-studded lineup of guest stars, both familiar and new, including Jamie Lee Curtis (Donna Berzatto), Bob Odenkirk (Uncle Lee), Brie Larson (Francine “Francie” Fak), and Rob Reiner (Albert).
Meanwhile, White is also set to star as Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming 20th Century Studios biopic, Deliver Me From Nowhere, hitting theaters on October 24.
