Meghan Markle is drawing criticism for posting a video of herself relaxing in a limousine near the Paris tunnel where Princess Diana died in a car crash in 1997.
The clip, shared on Markle’s Instagram Stories Saturday, shows the 44-year-old Duchess of Sussex filming her limo passing the Pont Alexandre III and Pont des Invalides bridges at night.

Markle then turned the camera to show herself putting her feet up and stretching them out in the limousine.
Her car was very close to the Pont d’Alma bridge, adjacent to the Pont d’Alma tunnel where Prince Harry’s mother was involved in the fatal accident on August 31, 1997.

Markle, attending her first Paris Fashion Week, faced criticism online after posting the video.
“‘If driving towards Princess Diana’s death scene is a message to Prince William, then Meghan Markle is the devil,’” one user wrote on X, sharing the clip.
“‘Instead of avoiding those places that the late Princess went to, she went and recreated them—how evil,’” another added.

“Why would she film the place his mother died? Moreover, why would she post it on social media for the world to see? Why?” one X user wrote.
“This is beyond disturbing. She had nothing whatsoever to do with Princess Diana, so why is she doing it?” another tweeted.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams also criticized Markle, telling the Daily Mail that her video was “utterly bewildering,” “beyond stupid,” and “insensitive beyond belief.”

“I don’t understand what on earth she was thinking—well, she can’t have been thinking. No adviser would ever advise doing something so strange,” Fitzwilliams said.
“I’m sure she didn’t mean to cause offense, she can’t have been thinking, but it’s insensitive beyond belief. It’s a complete absence of thought,” the royal expert continued.
Fitzwilliams added, “Diana’s death is a tragedy that has scarred so much of Harry’s life, and I can’t imagine he would find this very appropriate.”
The Post has reached out to Markle’s representatives for comment.

Diana was 36 when she died in Paris. Her driver, Henri Paul, who had a mix of prescription drugs and alcohol in his system and was speeding at 65 mph, attempted to evade paparazzi on motorbikes. Instead, the Mercedes carrying Diana and her partner, Dodi Al-Fayed, crashed into a pillar inside Paris’ Pont de l’Alma tunnel.

She was rushed to Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Diana’s sons, William and Harry, were 15 and 12, respectively, when the tragedy occurred.
