Scott Disick, 40, has reportedly opted to seek assistance regarding his Ozempic usage following widespread concern among fans and worries from loved ones about his significant weight loss. The reality TV personality, who shares three children with his former partner Kourtney Kardashian, raised eyebrows last month due to his visibly thinner frame.
Speculations arose among fans regarding potential undisclosed health issues or substance use contributing to his gaunt appearance. However, sources disclosed to DailyMail.com that Disick had been utilizing Ozempic in an attempt to address his ‘dad bod’ concerns.
Scott, often referred to as ‘The Lord,’ has allegedly enlisted the expertise of a nutritionist to address his fluctuating weight, prompted by the widespread concern following his recent appearance transformation.
In February, Scott Disick, 40, sparked concern among fans on Instagram with a noticeably leaner visage (as seen in the image).
In early March, just weeks later, the 40-year-old father-of-three stirred concerns for his well-being as he appeared noticeably gaunt while leaving Catch Steak in Los Angeles.
However, insiders reveal that the widespread concern expressed by the public served as a wake-up call for Scott to seek assistance after his use of Ozempic. He subsequently sought guidance from a nutritionist to address his weight concerns. Notably, he appeared healthier in a photo captured on March 28.
“Scott recognized the need to discontinue his use of Ozempic after seeing the photos of himself and the public outcry regarding his weight loss,” an insider exclusively told DailyMail.com.
“He believed his thinner appearance was favorable, unaware of the potential health implications. Now, he’s collaborating with a nutritionist to regain a healthier balance without reverting to his former size,” they continued.
“Accepting the natural aging process has been a challenge for Scott, who has always maintained an attractive and fit physique,” the insider added.
Reportedly, Scott began using Ozempic to address weight gain and is now striving to manage it effectively.
Scott’s visibly gaunt appearance in February prompted concerns from his ex, Kourtney Kardashian, who is currently married to Travis Barker.
Scott has encountered numerous health challenges in recent years, notably a back injury stemming from a 2022 car accident, which resulted in weight gain for him.
Less than a week later, he was captured looking gaunt while out to dinner at Nobu with his three children, Mason (14), Penelope (11), and Reign (nine).
“He’s not unwell, nor is he involved in heavy drug use,” a source assured DailyMail.com at the time. “Kourtney wouldn’t permit Scott to spend extensive time with their children if he were grappling with addiction.”
The decision to start using Ozempic stemmed from Scott’s significant struggles with weight gain. “Around this time last year, he was deeply unhappy with his physique,” the source disclosed.
Scott’s health came into focus last year following an episode of the popular Hulu reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians. During the episode, Khloe Kardashian, 39, paid him a visit to discuss his well-being. Scott admitted to neglecting the necessary physical therapy for his back injury and lamented to his doctor, “I’ve been unable to be active. I’ve put on weight.”
Khloe remarked, “I believe Scott needs some encouragement because this is perhaps the least healthy I’ve seen him. His mobility is severely limited, all stemming from his back issues, which is understandably distressing.”
Acknowledging the impact of his back problems, Scott confessed, “I’ve put on a significant amount of weight… all because of my back.”
Scott, who tragically lost his parents in 2013 and 2014, has openly battled substance abuse and alcoholism in the past.
In June 2020, he was hospitalized for alcohol poisoning, preceded by a near-fatal overdose in 2014, triggered by ingesting nearly an entire bottle of sleeping pills after a night of heavy drinking and partying. It was Kourtney who eventually persuaded him to undergo a month-long rehab stint.
In 2020, Scott altered his dietary habits after discovering low testosterone levels.
Ozempic is available in the UK and the US strictly by prescription, with its cost in America soaring up to $1,700 per month.
According to nutrition expert Dr. Mark Hyman, the unforeseen side effects of the hyped ‘miracle weight loss shot’ are alarming. Bowel blockages, where food gets trapped in the intestines, potentially leading to lethal outcomes if untreated, and pancreatitis, which can also be fatal, are among the concerns.
Recent analysis revealed that fat loss injections like Ozempic and Zepbound have been associated with over 100 deaths in the US.
With millions of Americans now receiving prescriptions for weight loss shots, concerns over their safety persist.
